WHAT IS ECO4? WHAT MEASURES ARE COVERED?
The Energy Company Obligation (ECO4) grant scheme helps homeowners, private tenants and landlords improve their homes’ energy efficiency. It’s funded by utility companies and backed by the UK government. The scheme is planned to be active until 31 March 2026.

WHAT ARE ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR ECO 4 FUNDING?
To be considered for this grant, you must:
• live in England, Wales, or Scotland
• live in a home with an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating of E-G
• receive one of various benefits (such as Universal Credit, Pension Credits Savings etc)
• There are other requirements too.​​​

HOW CAN YOU APPLY FOR THE ECO4 FUNDING?

If you’re eligible, we’ll arrange a home survey to identify which efficiency improvements are suitable for your home. We’ll then arrange for the improvement to be installed.

HOW LONG DOES THE WORK TAKE?
This very much depends upon the size of the property and the measures which needs to be done. Upon visiting your property, the surveyor should be able to give you this information and advice what measures you’ll be needing to make your home energy efficient.​​​​​​​

HOW DO I KNOW IF A CONTRACTOR IS REPUTABLE?

WILL I HAVE TO EMPTY MY LOFT?
If you have any belongings in your loft, we will require them to be removed in advance of the work starting. If you are unable to move them or have nowhere to store them and need help, please let us know.
To get the maximum benefits from your home improvements, we recommend not storing belongings in the loft after the work has been completed as this may damage the insulation and reduce its effectiveness unless it is boarded.
WHAT DOES RETROFIT MEAN?
Retrofit means upgrading an existing property to make it warmer, cheaper to run, less draughty and more comfortable to live in. This is done by improving the insulation, air permeability and heating systems. It also includes installing sufficient ventilation to provide good air quality in your home. By improving the energy efficiency, retrofit also reduces carbon emissions and improves the appearance and the security of your home.
WHAT WILL THE PRE- SURVEY INVOLVE?
The presurvey will give you an opportunity to know about what measures will be done and how. They will explain the works that will be carried out, provide information on timescales, and talk to you about any additional requirements you may have. DO CUSTOMERS GET ANY GUARANTEE PAPERWORK AT END OF JOB?
Yes, customers get insurance backed guarantee certificates from Quality Mark. Moreover, building regulations certificationfor Solid Wall Insulation measures and TrustMark certificate for measures installed at the property.
